About the Author
Sylvie Nomeny
Born in Cameroon, Africa, Sylvie Nomeny is an author, a lawyer, a speaker, a consultant, and is passionate about the pursuit of truth, peace and justice. Throughout years of experience, Sylvie Nomeny has realized that society, or the world, is made of lies from all corners. She believes that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty, but society has assumed the opposite, where one is guilty until proven innocent, and the return to that ‘innocent’ status can be difficult even if later proven.
What keeps Sylvie Nomeny busy outside of her profession is to expand Girls’ Education in Africa. The vision that has motivated her actions in many countries in the continent, because girls in rural areas of Africa face barriers that exclude them from education, and those in urban areas are limited in their ability to receive such education, not because of cultural resistance or unwillingness but because of their inability to receive such education. Not only has she contributed to the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) project for Girls’ Education Funds in Africa but has also participated in multiple colloquiums on ethics and civic education in Africa.
Living in the Washington, DC, metro area, Sylvie is a member of the American University – Washington College of Law alumni and a board member of the Organization International for the Political Advancement of Women in Africa (OIAPA), an organization with a mission to raise the participation, contribution, and influence of women in Parliament across Africa, in the hopes to be the voice of the unheard, because women are better positioned to understand many aspects and impacts of the crises that affect society.
What inspired the book is, whether we realize it or not, we are all affected by lies. But a solution to a better and peaceful society starts with us; it begins with one simple question: Is it true? This book will take you to where and how you can be part of the solution.
